Global Desktop PC Market to Rebound in 2H 2023 as Inventory Clearance Expected to End in 1H 2023: MIC
April 21, 2023

The global desktop computer shipment reached 76.8 million units, a 6.3% decline in 2022 compared to 2021. In the first half of 2022, desktop sales were affected by factors such as the return of workers to the office and the impact of rising global inflation. As a result, there was a decrease in shipments from the first quarter of 2022 onwards as the easing of COVID-19 ended the pandemic dividend, according to Yiling Chen, industry analyst with MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute).

"The desktop inventory clearance will come to an end in the first half of 2023. As life returns to normal after the pandemic eases, there is a chance that consumer demand in China, Europe, and America will rebound," Chen added.
